Navajo Moon with Raindrops Earrings

These earrings by Navajo jeweler, Pauline Armstrong, have beautiful female elements.  The top sterling silver dome reminds us of the moon, while the concentric circles are in the shape of a crescent moon.  The eleven dangles represent rain.

Women have more water in our bodies than men do, and in many tribes, women are the caretakers of the waters.  Grandmother Moon's influence creates the tides in the oceans and in women's bodies.
