Clissa Martin carved this teeny tiny badger from Angelite. The soft blue color of the stone reminds us of a puffy cloud. Clissa detailed the natural line of fur on its back. The eyes are inlaid jet. The dragonfly is inlaid natural red coral. This little badger is small enough to fit in a pouch if you would like a companion when you are out and about.

In the Zuni tradition badgers are the guardians of the south. Badgers are fierce, you would not want to mess with one! They are creatures of both the world underground where their dens are, and the world on Mother Earth’s belly where they live during the day to hunt.
Traditionally, Zuni carvings are symbolically fed cornmeal. Each Zuni fetish comes in a box with a descriptive card and a tiny bit of corn meal to tide them over until they reach you.
