Tiny Rabbits in Love

Daisy Natewa carved these adorable little rabbits in love and bound them together with white clam shell and turquoise beads.  the smaller bunny is carved from sodalite, and the darker bunny is carved from serpentine.  Their heads are tilted into one another.

As we all know, rabbits are soft and timid.  When in danger they either run very fast to get away or they freeze and do their best to blend in to their environment.  Rabbits are very fertile and have lots of babies, so they may make a good gift for families trying to have a baby.

Traditionally, Zuni carvings are symbolically fed cornmeal.   Each Zuni fetish comes in a box with a descriptive card and a tiny bit of corn meal to tide them over until they reach you.
